‘Gladiator 2’ Launches Ridley Scott, Denzel Washington, and Paul Mescal into Oscar Contention

 


Paramount Pictures' highly anticipated sequel to the 2000 Best Picture winner is stirring excitement in the awards landscape, potentially earning director Ridley Scott the Oscar he's long sought, along with Denzel Washington’s chance at a third acting award.

Ridley Scott's epic sequel, “Gladiator II,” has made a powerful debut following its first screening in Los Angeles for AMPAS and SAG voters. The film is rekindling interest and anticipation for this year’s unpredictable Oscar race.

With this sequel, Scott, a three-time Oscar nominee, is back in the spotlight, hoping to secure the coveted Academy Award. His lead actors, Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington, have also emerged as strong contenders in their respective categories.

 Wade Barrett and Corey Graves Results by Roy Nemer of Wrestleview.com WWE SmackDown kicks off with the Crown Jewel World Championship being entered into the arena by security. We see clips of last week’s show involving Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso fighting The Bloodline. We see clips of Raw with Jimmy trying to convince Jey to join them but Jey refusing. The Bloodline and Jey Uso The Bloodline come to the ring and loud chants of “OTC” from the fans. 

Solo tells the fans to acknowledge him but they boo. A loud “Solo sucks” chant and Solo tells them they are looking at the present and the future. He says they are looking at The Bloodline and The Tribal Chief. Solo says he is the man who created a bigger and stronger family. He created a bigtger and stronger Bloodline. He says Roman and Jimmy can’t do anything about it. He says even Jey doesn’t want anything to do with them. The fans chant “Yeeet” and he tells them “No Yeeet”. He says that the beat downs on Roman will continue unless comes down to the ring by the end of the night and acknowledges him. Jey’s music hits and he shows up in between the fans.
 He walks down the steps and gets into the ring. Jey looks at Solo and tells him it has been a minute. He tells him he promises he is not here to fight because he still cares about him and he is his little brother. Jey tells him that Jimmy and Roman are not here yet and he came out to talk to him one on one. He asks Solo to think about what he is doing to the family and The Bloodline.

 He says no one has bigger issues with Roman than he does but dividing the family is not it. He left to be his own man, he became Intercontinental Champion. Jey tells him that fighting over the ula fala is not it, that is earned not taken and Solo knows better. But if he wants to end Roman’s power, to do it but not to divide the family while he does it. Solo asks him if he is done wasting his time. Solo says he is not trying to divide the family, he is trying to unite the family.
 He tells Jey to stop calling him his little brother, he is his Tribal Chif now and he will always have a place for Jey and Roman in his Bloodline. All he has to do is acknowledge him. He says he doesn’t want him to follow Jimmy’s footsteps because look where it got him. He asks Jey if he is in or out. Jey tells Solo if he is trying to unite The Bloodline, why did he have to go and get Tama Tonga, Loa and Jacob. Jey says there’s a reason why they stayed away from Jacob and if Jacob keeps looking at him, he will have to knock
