The Kansas City Chiefs are awaiting MRI results amid concerns that star receiver Rashee Rice may have suffered a torn ACL during a collision with Patrick Mahomes in their recent victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Rice left the game after Mahomes accidentally collided with his right knee while attempting to tackle an interceptor. Early reports suggest he could be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The injury occurred in the first quarter when Mahomes, trying to mitigate the damage from an interception by Kristian Fulton, dove low but inadvertently struck Rice instead. The impact caught Rice off guard, causing him to collapse in pain.
Following the injury, he was assisted off the field and later transported to the locker room in a medical cart, visibly distressed with a towel over his face.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid commented on Rice’s condition during halftime, expressing concern and later stating, "I feel terrible for Rashee... We will hope for the best."
.
Additionally, Rice is facing off-the-field challenges, awaiting trial on multiple charges from a high-speed car crash earlier this year, which could lead to further NFL disciplinary action
.
The Chiefs hope for a positive outcome as they look to navigate this difficult situatio
