Israel-Lebanon Update: Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah Amid Escalating Tensions

Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon have targeted at least 100 Hezbollah sites, marking the most extensive military action in the region since the conflict in Gaza began. The strikes, which commenced around 9 PM on Thursday, focused on Hezbollah's rocket launchers and other key locations, amid growing fears of a broader war.

This latest offensive follows earlier suspected Israeli operations that destroyed Hezbollah's communication devices, resulting in 37 fatalities and wounding over 3,000 people.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah condemned Israel's actions, stating that they have "crossed all red lines" and could be interpreted as a declaration of war.

In response, U.S. President Joe Biden called for an immediate ceasefire, expressing concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized that Israel would continue its military operations against Hezbollah, noting that while there are significant opportunities, there are also considerable risks involved. He stated, "Hezbollah feels persecuted, and the sequence of military actions will continue."
