The 50th season of Saturday Night Live is set to launch on September 28, featuring a lineup of all-star hosts and musical guests.
Kicking off the season will be first-time host Jean Smart, with Jelly Roll making his debut as the musical guest. Jelly Roll expressed his excitement on Instagram, saying, “The premiere of the 50th season of SNL. BRB going to cry for a few hours and call every family member I have. Bringing therapeutic music to my favorite show ever. God is Good.”
Following the premiere, comedian Nate Bargatze will host on October 5, joined by musical guest Coldplay. On October 12, Ariana Grande will return to host, with Stevie Nicks performing. Michael Keaton will take the stage as host on October 19, accompanied by Billie Eilish. The season continues on November 2 with pop sensation Chappell Roan making her debut alongside host John Mulaney, marking his sixth time on the show.
Recently, Smart celebrated her third Emmy win for Hacks, while Jelly Roll performed “I Am Not Okay” during the Emmy Awards’ in memoriam segment. The Bargatze-Coldplay episode coincides with the release of Coldplay's 10th album, Moon Music, which drops the day before.
Grande returns to SNL as she prepares for her role as Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked. Nicks, who hasn't released a full-length album in nearly a decade, will surely have surprise song choices for her performance.
